WELCOME
Since 1881, people have turned to the American
Red Cross for emergency services. Today, 1.2 million trained and dedicated volunteers, young
and old, are helping their neighbors across the country every day. Although it is not a government agency, the American Red Cross is chartered by Congress to provide special services to members
of the U.S. Armed Forces and to disaster victims.

Blood
The need for blood is constant. We need your help and the help of thousands of blood andplatelet donors. If all eligible donors gave blood at least twice each year there would be no seasonal blood shortages. Please remember to donate blood and platelets. Gifts that Save the Day
In this season of hope and in these economic times, more than ever, people want their gifts to really matter. For the first time, the Red Cross is offering a new online gift catalog!
The catalog empowers people to make a donation that could:
- provide food and shelter for a disaster victim for a day
- a military comfort kit with a robe, phone card and other supplies for a wounded warrior
- a month of basic necessities for a family in another country who lost everything in a disaster
In this season of hope, the Red Cross is asking people to give a gift that can really save the day when the next disaster strikes, when a neighbor's house burns down, when someone needs life-saving blood or when a child needs a hug and a blanket.
